Our vocational school of higher education, located in World Heritage City of Safranbolu which holds the best examples of the Ottoman architecture, was established on 05.01.1992 on a building which belonged to Safranbolu Municipality. In its early days, our school served as a part of Hacettepe University Zonguldak Engineering Faculty. With the establishment of Zonguldak Karaelmas University on 11.07.1992, our school became a part of it. First programs opened in our school in 1992-1993 academic year, namely Tourism and Hospitality Management and Restoration, were followed by the opening of Textile, Traditional Handicrafts and Tourism Guidance programs in 1997-1998 academic year, Tourism and Hospitality Management (night school) and Furniture Decoration programs in 1999-2000, Management, Accounting, Tourism Guidance (night school) and Restoration (night school) programs in 2000-2001, and Accounting (night school) and Traditional Handicraft (night school) programs in 2002-2003 academic year respectively. On 29.05.2007, our vocational school of higher education joined Karabuk University. Our school which is composed of technical and economic programs continued to expand with the introduction of Radio and Television Programming program in 2008-2009 academic year, Tourism Animation and Management (night school) programs in 2009-2010, Child Development program in 2010-2011 and Computer Technologies and Elderly Care programs in 2011-2012 academic years respectively. As this trend of expansion shows, our vocational school will continue to expand in line with the regional and national demands for qualified labor force and prepare qualified students for the demands of the business life.
