Internship Procedure Steps

INTERNSHIP PROCEDURE STEPS

1. Internship Application Form shall be completed after obtaining the opinion of the relevant instructor and then submitted to the workplace where the internship will be carried out. Since the form is electronically signed, a wet signature is not required. The Internship Application Form must be approved by the authorized person at the workplace with signature and stamp/seal. The form shall be uploaded via the Internship Application button in OBS. Students whose applications are approved must place the original document in the Internship File.

2. One week before the internship starts, you can obtain your SGK Employment Entry Declaration via the e-Government portal. Students who do not upload the Internship Application Form to OBS and whose applications are not approved cannot be registered in the Social Security Institution (SGK) system; therefore, their requests for applied education (applied course, compulsory internship, workplace training, or voluntary internship) will be rejected.

3. Before starting the internship, students must print and spiral-bind the Internship Notebook and the Internship Commission Evaluation Form, and perform their internships at the workplace within the specified dates.

4. The internship notebook must be prepared by the student in accordance with writing rules.

5. After the internship is completed, the Workplace Internship Evaluation Form must be filled out and approved by the workplace authority and then placed in a sealed envelope.

6. After affixing the Internship Documents Submission Form on the large envelope, the following must be placed inside and hand-delivered to the instructor who will evaluate the internship by the specified date: Internship Application Form, Internship Notebook, Workplace Internship Evaluation Form (in a sealed letter envelope), and Internship Commission Evaluation Form. DUE TO POSSIBLE GRIEVANCES THAT MAY ARISE FROM COURIER COMPANIES, OUR DIRECTORATE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE.

7. Internship files of students who have completed their internships will be reviewed by the internship commission, and students deemed necessary will be invited for an interview or practical assessment.

8. Regarding payments to students receiving applied education, the provision in Article 25(1) of Vocational Education Law No. 3308 applies. The enterprise where the applied education is conducted and the University are not obliged to pay the student. However, within the scope of Law No. 3308, enterprises may pay the student if their own regulations permit.

9. If an internship wage is received, when submitting the Internship File to the relevant instructor, the Internship Wage Commitment and the original bank receipt proving payment to the student must be delivered to the Student Affairs unit. No payment will be made to workplaces that do not submit the receipt.

It is MANDATORY to write “Internship Wage Payment” in the “Description” field of the receipt.

INTERNSHIP ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT!

Physical attendance at internships is mandatory. Within the scope of the Karabuk University Applied Education Framework Directive, the excused absence limit (illness, death of a first-degree relative, or similar urgent situations) is at most 20% (6 DAYS) of the duration determined for the relevant applied education. For students who exceed this limit, the Internship course is canceled and a Social Security Exit Notification is issued.

If Maximum Absence Duration is exceeded and the Internship Cancellation Procedure is not requested by the student, workplace official, and instructor within two (2) days by petition, our school will complete the process ex officio based on the SGK Notification System.

In cases of compulsory absence up to six (6) days, if the petition and its annexes are sent to smyo@karabuk.edu.tr, the missed days will be added to the end of the internship. The student’s internship dates will be updated and notification will be sent by e-mail.
